Terms of Service

1. Platform Overview

MalondaPlace is a free digital classifieds platform launched in 2025 in Lilongwe, Malawi. It connects buyers and sellers of goods and services. All listings are free to create and view. MalondaPlace does not handle payments, guarantee items, or mediate disputes.

2. User Eligibility

You may use MalondaPlace if you are:

• At least 16 years old, and
• A resident of Malawi, and
• Using the platform for lawful, personal, or small-scale business purposes

If you are under 18, you confirm you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to post listings and interact with other users.

3. Account & Verification

To post listings, you must:

• Register with a valid email address
• Verify your WhatsApp number via OTP (one-time code)
• Provide your general location (e.g., "Area 11, Lilongwe")

4. Prohibited Listings

You may not list or sell:

• Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or hazardous items
• Weapons, ammunition, or drugs
• Adult or explicit content
• Items that promote hate, violence, or discrimination
• Services requiring professional licensing (e.g., legal, medical, financial advice)
• Fake, misleading, or placeholder listings

MalondaPlace reserves the right to remove listings or suspend accounts without notice for violations.

5. User Responsibilities

As a Seller:

• List only items you legally own
• Provide honest descriptions and real photos
• Specify your exact neighborhood in Lilongwe
• Only communicate via WhatsApp after listing is published

As a Buyer:

• Inspect items in person before paying
• Meet only in safe, public places (e.g., City Mall, gateway mall)
• Use cash only for transactions (no mobile money before meeting)
• Prefer sellers with the "Verified" badge

7. Free Listings & Future Features

All standard listings are 100% free, now and forever. In the future, MalondaPlace may offer optional paid promotion features (e.g., "Featured Listings"). Any paid service will be clearly marked and require your explicit consent before charging.

8. Content Ownership & Reporting

You own your listing content. By posting, you grant MalondaPlace a license to display it. You may report suspicious listings using the "Flag" button. We may remove content that violates these terms.

9. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Post prohibited content
• Use fake or unverified WhatsApp numbers
• Engage in harassment, spam, or fraud
• Violate Malawian law

You may delete your account anytime via your profile.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malawi. Any dispute shall be subject to the courts of Lilongwe, Malawi.

11. "As Is" Platform

MalondaPlace is provided "as is". We make no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy of listings, or user conduct.
