Description
STORAGE Store bagged cement on a raised floor in a damp-proof shed. If this is not possible, store the cement on a raised platform and cover it with waterproof sheeting. The cement should be used in the order in which it is received as cement hardens over time. MIXING Accurately measure all of the materials with a suitable container (a wheel barrow or bucket). Mix the materials thoroughly until a uniform colour is obtained. Add water whilst mixing, but avoid adding too much of it. WATER In general, the more water that is used for a given quantity of cement, the weaker the concrete or mortar will be. It is therefore important to use the minimum amount of water required to make the mix more workable. OuraCrete uses less water than ordinary Portland cement. CURING CURING Concrete or plaster should be kept moist for at least 7 days to prevent cracking and to ensure that its strength increases. Spray it gently with water or protect it with plastic sheets (or wet hessian) to prevent it from drying out.
